Our 4th of July

We had a great weekend filled with boating, friends, 4th July parade and fireworks it was a great family weekend!!! Makayla was a little more afraid to do fireworks this year than last year not sure if its cause the kids weren't here this year to show her the ropes or if she has just gotten that much older to realize if I don't hold this sparkler the correct way it might burn me and that will hurt either way she warmed up to it and had fun.

She also had her first boat ride and loved it. She got so excited about trying to catch a fish with her buddy Matt that even though they weren't able to get one the joy of catching a little seaweed was enough to make a little 3yr old a happy girl. Matt even let her drive the boat all by herself and she made us all dizzy driving us in circles.

We went to the apple valley 4th July parade this year again like we did last year and had a lot of fun doing that but we learned last year to go in the morning to reserve a spot with some blankets to secure a front row seat so we did and she got to get the real experience of a parade and of course that is catching all the candy they through out.

All & All it was a great Holiday weekend and we ended it with home made 4th July cookies.

Even though my red cookies turned out pink, hey I tried they were still delicious as always!!!

I know its been a while again..................

Time to start blogging again, I seem to go through these long periods of procrastination................... So I thought what will get me going again and well I thought what is my world right now and what will always be my world, who gives me the will to get up every morning so I can hear the next things to come from her mouth or to see the next thing she will learn for the day, yep that would be my sweet daughter Makayla. So I thought well since I don't have the best memory in the world these days (I think pregnancy for sure took a lot of my memory cells away) I will start blogging again and the topic I will start with are the "Makayla Funnies" there are things she says to me that make me laugh everyday. That I know I'm not going to remember them all time she is 6 let alone 20. There are already a lot of things I know I have forgotten from when she was a infant/baby so before I kick myself again I'm going to attempt at being better at blogging them and other things in our life as the Tennants.

So to kick off the "The Makayla Funnies" here is what I have for today:

Makayla was playing dress up today and comes in says I'm not dressing up anymore. How come I reply: "It's not comfortable being a princess"

I took her to see a show at a park called Puppets in the Park she looks at me and say its
"Princess and the Peast Story"

Later on in the day I look at her cause she is sniffling and sneezing and I say to her it sounds like you are getting sick or have some allergies she says to me "No momma I'm not getting sick I just have the bless you's."

Oh Makayla the things you say:)

Guess who is 21/2 today

Yep. Makayla is 2 1/2 today which means that in 6 months, we will be celebrating her 3rd birthday. Once again, it has come way to fast. I get a lot of joy watching her everyday even though some days can be rough with a 2 year old. These bad days are made up for with all the good times her and I share together. She makes me laugh every day and amazes me with the things she does and what she remembers.
Some of the things she has accomplished so far are.......

She knows all of her colors and can count 1-10 (Although she does seem to always skip the number 3). Not sure why. She knows the presidents name and says it pretty dang cute if I might add. She knows the name of pretty much any animal there is, not just the basic ones. She can say her ABC's (not perfect of course) but she does pretty well. She is always doing or saying something that amazes Brian and I.

Last year when she was 1 1/2, we bought here a kitchen. This year, Daddy got her a Dream Dazzlers Jeep that is motorized. She loves it so far. She has been practicing around the house until the weather gets nice enough to let her loose in the back yard. I think she will have a blast with it this summer and being outside will help with the wall damage she is causing. She hasn't quite got that whole "steering" thing down yet.
